Blue Cheese. Ranch. Creamy Caesar. Thousand Island.

I freakin love salad dressing. But whenever I'm drenching my healthy greens and veggies with these pre-made, preservative-filled dressings, I always ask myself "Does the unhealthy dressing outweigh the benefits of the salad itself?"

So I did a little research!

I read tons of articles about salad dressings. Is it really that b...

Sigh. It's that time of year again. The days get shorter, colder, and less fun, giving you a constant reminder that the warm, sun-filled days of summer are gone. No more boating, no more beach time, and no more sunshine. Well... less sunshine.

Even though I moved south from NJ to Baltimore, the winter days in the city are HARSH. It feels way colder here than my winters in So...

Free-range cows are happy cows. Grass-fed cows are healthier cows. Pasture-raising cows is more humane. Right? If you're going to eat another living animal, you'd rather it be happy during its days... right?

But while grass-fed, hormone-free, pasture-raised, organic beef might be better for humans to consume, it is WORSE for our environment than factory-farming. Yeah, isn't...

First off, I'd like to say that the whole "cleanse" craze is out of control. People are "detoxing" and "cleansing" right and left to shed pounds, get rid of toxins, and even to fix their hair and skin. But SO MANY PEOPLE are completing these "cleanses" in an extremely unhealthy and unnatural way. Whether it's a juice cleanse, a no-carb cleanse, or berry cleanse, they all ha...

Three: the magic number. Did you know that placing things in groups of three is actually a feng shui tactic?

I know, I know. You think feng shui is a bunch of hubba-baloo. It doesn't really work, right?

If you want to create a more peaceful setting in your home, try this simple tactic by grouping things in three's. Don't believe me? Try it yourself. Go put a candle on y...

I've dealt with acne since I was in my teens. I tried every cream on the market, every face wash, and every oral pill. Finally after giving in to Accutane, I finally got things under control. Sorta.

As a woman in my mid-twenties, my hormones still get out of control, causing horrible breakouts and oily skin. So I'm always careful to take every precaution to prevent a full-fl...

You are MISSING OUT if you are still buying store bought cheese.

All you need is some milk, cheese-making agents, and some bowls. It tastes way better than store-bought mozzarella, and you know exactly what you're putting into your food. And hey, if it doesn't turn into mozzarella, you made ricotta!

I tried making my own mozzarella with my mom one day because we were bored an...

As written in my blog post Should I Buy Local or Organic?, I note at the end how the one thing I splurge on is organic, pasture-raised/grass-fed/hormone free meats and eggs. I wanted to elaborate a little more on that topic, since it's a popular one in today's day and age, especially with all the controversy around the meat and poultry industry.

First off, I rarely buy red...

Sp apparently dry brushing has been around for decades, but something I only recently discovered. It helps shed and exfoliate dry skin cells leaving your skin fresh and smooth, stimulates blood circulation, and apparently assists with cellulite (although I've personally seen no results in that regard).

I find it hilarious because I feel like I'm grooming myself like a horse....

My vitamin intake used to consist of whatever was on sale at the drug store that month. I felt stressed out because I thought I needed to take every vitamin on the shelf to become "healthy", but couldn't afford it. Some months, I would take upwards of 15-20 vitamins and other months I would take none whatsoever.

I've always loved the idea of vitamins. They're easy, quick, a...
